Thomas Boyd Trackhead & Campsite is a tranquil riverside camping area located approximately 25 km east of Tumut, New South Wales, along the Goobarragandra River. Situated on the Hume and Hovell Walking Track, it offers a serene retreat for campers, hikers, and nature enthusiasts seeking a peaceful getaway.​

Camping Experience

The campsite accommodates various camping styles, from traditional swags to motorhomes. It is an unpowered site with limited mobile reception, providing an opportunity to disconnect and immerse oneself in nature. The grounds feature both bush-facing and riverside sites, equipped with outdoor picnic tables, fireplaces, a weather shelter, and two push-button electric barbecues. An amenities block offers flushing toilets, hand basins, and wash-up sinks with hot water; however, there are no showers available. ​

Important Information

Water: On-site water is not suitable for drinking unless boiled for at least 10 minutes.​ Fires: Campfires are permitted only in designated fireplaces and are subject to fire restrictions. Visitors must bring their own firewood and refrain from cutting vegetation on-site.​ Waste: There are no garbage bins; all rubbish must be taken upon departure.​ Noise: A noise curfew, including generator use, is enforced from 10 PM.​ Pets: Pets are allowed but must be kept under strict control at all times. Dogs are not permitted on private property areas of the walking track.​
