Nyngan Weir is a tranquil riverside camping area situated along the Bogan River, approximately 3 kilometers west of Nyngan, New South Wales. Accessible via Ski Lane, this free campground offers a peaceful retreat for travelers seeking a natural setting close to town.​

Camping Amenities

Nyngan Weir provides unpowered campsites suitable for tents, caravans, camper trailers, and motorhomes. The campground features:​

Flushing toilets and rubbish bins ​ Fire pits for campfires (subject to local fire regulations) ​ Picnic tables and bench seating ​

Please note that there are no shower facilities, and campers should be self-sufficient. The site is pet-friendly, allowing visitors to bring their dogs, provided they are restrained at all times. ​

Natural Setting & Activities

Set along the Bogan River, the campground offers shaded areas beneath large trees, providing a comfortable environment for relaxation. The river is suitable for swimming, and fishing is a popular activity, with reports of fish jumping in the weir. ​

The area is known for its peaceful ambiance, making it ideal for unwinding and enjoying nature. Campers have noted the site's tranquility and the opportunity to observe local wildlife. ​
