After soaking up the peaceful coastal charm of Walkerville, we packed up the van and hit the road toward one of Victoria’s most iconic destinations — Wilsons Promontory.

The drive itself was a highlight, winding through rolling green hills and pockets of dense forest, with glimpses of the coastline reminding us of the beauty that awaited. As we got closer, the landscape shifted into the rugged wilderness that makes “The Prom” so special — a mix of granite mountains, bushland, and pristine beaches.

Once we arrived, we made our way to Tidal River Campground, our home for the next couple of days. Nestled between the river and the coast, the campground offered a perfect base to settle in and reconnect with nature. With the van parked and camp set up, we couldn’t resist taking a stroll along the river and soaking in the incredible views of the surrounding mountains and coastline.

The afternoon was spent exploring some of the nearby walking tracks, where every path seemed to lead to stunning lookouts or hidden beaches. The area’s peaceful energy, paired with the natural beauty of Wilsons Prom, made it easy to slow down and fully appreciate the moment.

As evening rolled in, we cooked dinner while watching the sky transform into shades of pink and orange, with the sounds of the river flowing gently nearby — the perfect way to end our day of travel and settle into the tranquility of Tidal River.
