From Bethanga we headed back on to the Hume Motorway and headed north for home. We were planning to stay at Gunning Showground, but there was an event on, so it was closed for camping. We kept on driving until Marulan, where we stayed behind the [Terminas Hotel](https://www.facebook.com/TerminusMarulan/) and enjoyed a meal at the pub for dinner. Marulan was previously known as Mooroowoolen. In 1958, the first truck inspection station in New South Wales was opened on the outskirts of Marulan on the Hume Highway. In 1986, the town was bypassed when a dual carriageway section of the Hume Highway opened.
