Lake Ballard Campsite, located in WA’s Goldfields region, is a remote and scenic camping spot set beside the salt flats of Lake Ballard. Famous for the “Inside Australia” art installation, the site offers a striking backdrop of open skies and minimalist landscapes, making it a favourite for photographers and travellers seeking solitude.
The campsite is basic and unpowered, suitable for tents, camper trailers, and self-contained caravans. Facilities are minimal—generally limited to open space and vehicle access—so campers need to bring water, food, and other essentials. Despite its simplicity, the location’s unique landscape and proximity to the outdoor art sculptures make it a memorable and peaceful outback experience.
It’s perfect for a short stay or overnight stop while exploring the Nullarbor and Goldfields region, offering both tranquillity and a sense of the vast Australian interior.
