Lake Crosbie Campground is a serene and remote camping area situated within the Pink Lakes section of Murray-Sunset National Park in northwestern Victoria. Camping Facilities
Accessible by 2WD vehicles in dry conditions, Lake Crosbie Campground provides basic amenities:
Camping is free, and no bookings are required. However, visitors must be self-sufficient, bringing their own drinking water and supplies, as there are no bins or water sources available. Fires are permitted only in designated fireplaces and must be fully extinguished with water before departure.
Natural Attractions
Lake Crosbie is famed for its vibrant pink hue, which varies with the seasons and weather conditions. This coloration results from the presence of the algae Dunaliella salina, which produces beta-carotene pigments, especially noticeable during late summer. The surrounding area offers opportunities for bushwalking and wildlife observation. The Kline Loop Nature Walk provides insights into the region's salt-mining history and showcases the diverse flora and fauna of the Mallee ecosystem.
