Shallow Crossing Campground is a serene riverside retreat nestled along the upper reaches of the Clyde River in Mogood, New South Wales. Surrounded by the Boyne, South Brooman, and Shallow Crossing State Forests, this campground offers a tranquil escape into nature, ideal for families, nature lovers, and outdoor enthusiasts

Campsites & Facilities

The campground provides both powered and unpowered sites suitable for tents, caravans, and camper trailers. Set on grassy flats beside the river, the sites offer easy access to the water and ample space for relaxation.

Amenities include:

  • Hot showers and composting toilets
  • Communal kitchen and BBQ facilities
  • Campfires permitted (except during total fire bans)
  • Pet-friendly (well-socialised dogs welcome)

Shallow Crossing Campground is a haven for outdoor activities:

  • Swimming: A tidal causeway offers shallow swimming areas suitable for children.
  • Canoeing/Kayaking: Easy river access allows for convenient launching of canoes or kayaks
  • Fishing: The Clyde River is known for its excellent fishing opportunities.
  • Bushwalking: Explore the surrounding state forests with various walking trails.

Access:

Reachable via well-formed dirt roads from the Princes Highway at East Lynne or the Kings Highway at Nelligen. Note that access from the east requires crossing a tidal ford, which may be affected by high tides or heavy rainfall.
