After a peaceful night under the stars at Davons Flat Campground, nestled along the Howqua River, we packed up and set our sights on the charming village of Jugiong.
Leaving the tranquil embrace of the Howqua Hills, we meandered through Victoria's high country. The road took us past rolling hills and open pastures, each turn offering a new vista just as captivating as the last.
Crossing into New South Wales, the rugged terrain gave way to expansive plains, dotted with grazing livestock and framed by distant mountain ranges. The journey was a reminder of Australia's diverse beauty.
As we approached Jugiong, the Murrumbidgee River welcomed us. The village, though small, exuded a warm hospitality that was immediately inviting. Strolling through Jugiong's quaint streets, we headed to the Sir George Hotel for dinner, a beautifully restored 19th-century inn offering luxurious accommodations and a glimpse into the area's rich history. The village's blend of rustic charm and modern comforts made it clear why it's considered a must-stop along the Hume Highway.
