We found a beautiful little reserve on the Macquarie River just out of Dubbo (Dickigundi Reserve on the Macquarie River, about 15km west of Dubbo.) and decided to stop for the night rather than push on to Nyngan, which was still another hour and a half away. Pulling in early felt right, especially for an anniversary.
A peaceful spot by the fast flowing river, the sun dropping toward the horizon, and an anniversary dinner with a view, a perfect way to start the journey.
