DRR Day 4
|

Our first stop after leaving Goodooga was Brewarrina.

We officially started the The Darling River Run today with breakfast in Brewarrina and a cultural tour of the heritage listed Aboriginal Fish Traps (Ngunnhu), believed to be one of the oldest man-made structures on Earth. Although the Darling River proper starts at the confluence of the Barwon and Culgoa Rivers approximately 40 kms east of Bourke, we got our first sight of her in Bourke when we visited the historic Wharf. We also saw the Water Tower art honouring Percy Hobson and and grabbed a good coffee from the Old Darling Store. Continuing our journey onto our camp for the night and we sat and enjoyed the solitude and the birds. We’re camped tonight on the banks of the Darling River at the beautiful Rose Isle Station just north of Louth.
